GRADING FOR EQUITY
Part 1- Tracking & Breaking Down Students’ Grades
The purpose of this project was to examine, “test,” and evaluate the principles of Joe Feldman, who we've been reading and discussing as a part of graduate course EDU 292C. The first step of the project involved tracking the scores of 3 students within my class, who represent a variety of grades, over 10 weeks. I analyzed the results of this tracking and reflected on the accuracy of each student's "omnibus" grade, with the explicit goal of eventually trying out alternatives to “omnibus” or traditional grading practices.
PRESENTATION & DATA VISUALS
The following presentation was created as a means to share this work with the ELA Cohort at the UC Davis School of Education. It features a brief overview of the existing grading system, a summary of my grade tracking results, and several graphs to visually represent the data I evaluated.
